Do’s & Don’ts

Consigning “Seasons”:

Generally, Theory & Thread puts out new season items
4–8 weeks before the weather changes,
just like traditional retail. A good shorthand is:

Season Accept Items Display In-Store
Spring Jan–Feb Feb–Apr
Summer Mar–Apr May–Jul
Fall Jul–Aug Aug–Oct
Winter Sep–Oct Nov–Jan

DO:

• Bring in clean, ODOR FREE, in-season items (40 pieces at a time).

• Check shoes for scuffs or spots
  (Magic Eraser those sneakers).

• Bring items neatly folded in a bag we can keep.

• Sign the consigment agreement.

• Shop ‘till you drop with the money you’ve earned!

DON’T:

• Get offended if we don’t take your items.
  Our customers are selective & so are we.

• Mix in Salvation Army, Good Will, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, Amazon, etc. with your drop off.

• Bring items in plastic garbage bags,
  bins or on hangers.

NEED TO KNOW:

• You earn 40% of what sells (60% for Designer items)

• Items stay on the floor for 90 days. Designer items stay until they sell.

• No returns - but you can always re-consign the item.

• Monies earned can be redeemed or left on account to use for future shopping.

• Monies not redeemed within one year will transfer to “on account" status.

• Accounts not active after three years will be closed.
